2009 Summer Reading Program

Be Creative @ Your Library / June 15th - August 8th

Sign-up Beings Monday, June 15th @ 10 am @ the Library.

Phone-in reservations will not be taken until 12 noon on Monday, June 15th.

Pre-registration is required for all of the SRP Performances. 

When signing up for performances, you may only sign up for your child and yourself. You may not sign up for other people.

For every two hours, your child will receive prizes for their reading achievements!

If your child reads ten or more hours, they will receive a FREE book!

For every two additional hours your child reads past the ten hour mark, their name will be put into a grand prize drawing for additional prizes at the end of the program!

6.23 - Baffling Bill the Magician - 11am & 1pm

6.30 - Kevin Kammeraad - 11am & 1pm

7.7 - Arts in the Sun - 11 am

7.14 - Merry Music Maker - 11am & 1pm

7.21 - Science Alive - 11am, 12:30pm, & 2pm

7.28 - Fields of Flutter - 11am & 1pm

8.4 - Arts in the Sun - 11am


"Arts in the Sun" is a new program we are starting this summer. Weather permitting, children will be participating in arts and crafts on the front lawn of the library.  Check with the library during the summer to see what matierals your child may have to bring to the event!


Baffling Bill the Magician arrives with a trunk full of astounding magic meant to intrigue your audience, and emphasize the fun and importance of reading! Emphasizing the art of illusion with his amazing magic show, Baffling Bill will dazzle your audience. Includes comedy, audience participation, and a special appearance from Gus the Bunny!


Kevin Kammeraad Poetry, Puppetry, Music - Be Creative with poetry and music! This fun and lively show encourages imagination and creativity through a variety of interactive music, poems, puppetry, singing, and laughing.


Merry Music Maker Music comes alive as the Merry Music Maker engages children in a playful and wonderful experience filled with music, sotries, and sign language. The merry Music maker has created a delightful, high-energy, interactive program filled with singing, dancing, and laughter that is sure to help children and adults alike catch the music.


Science Alive Live Animal Presentation - This program provides an educational and exciting addition to your special event. A biologist and a collection of exotic critters invade your library attracting curious kids of all ages.  Hands-on contact with parrots, turtles, snakes or maybe a chinchilla is sure to stimulate further learning.


Fields of Flutter Butterflies- This program includes an overview of the monarch's life cycle beginning as an egg, to a growing caterpillar, changing into a chrysalis, and finally emerging as a butterfly ... all in 30 days! There will be time for questions and each child can take home a caterpillar, chrysalis, or both depending on availability.
