The
Almont District Library has provided electronic access to
information for over a decade. As early as 1992, remote
access to bulletin board systems at University of Michigan
and Michigan State University were freely available through
the library.
We have offered both dial-up and wireless remote access
programs that were intended to be "self-funded". The
library board's objective was to control the financial
impact on the limited operation budget of the library.
An outcome of these two programs coupled with significant
voluntary support has been high-speed access and computer
resources for the library and it's patrons.
Patrons may use the patron computers and/or use their
portable computer at our "hotspot" in the library.
